Forwarding stops when a workspace reaches its allowance; unused operations do not roll over. How operations are counted

On this page

The gateway features come with Free

All plans share the same core gateway features:

  • Connect public HTTPS MCP servers and authorize agents for the workspace they need.
  • Choose which supported tools, resources and prompts each agent can use. Explicit blocks take priority over grants.
  • Keep personal and team catalogs separate, and share approved MCP accounts within a team.
  • Review operation activity and revoke an agent's workspace access.

Team access is granted to each agent individually. Adding a member does not give all of that person's agents access to shared connections. Read permissions and shared accounts for the details.

How operations are counted

An operation is a request Toolstile forwards to an MCP server because an agent or user asked for it. Discovery pages, dashboard connection checks and requests that fail upstream all count, so listing tools from three servers uses at least three operations. If the gateway retries the same request, it counts once; a request your client sends again counts as a new one. Automatic background maintenance does not count. The usage and billing guide has the full meter rules.

One Free personal workspace and one Free team workspace

Each account can use a Free personal workspace and one Free team workspace. Each workspace has its own 5,000-operation monthly allowance. The team allowance belongs to the first team workspace you create; deleting it does not make another team eligible for Free.

Additional team workspaces require a paid plan before forwarding starts. Free allowances reset at 00:00 UTC on the first day of each calendar month.

Connected services have their own costs and limits

Your Toolstile plan covers the gateway. It does not include subscriptions, API charges or other fees from connected services or your AI client. Those services keep their own permissions, quotas and account requirements.

Toolstile also applies short-term request limits separately from the monthly allowance. A larger allowance does not guarantee a particular request rate or bypass a connected service's limits.

How paid subscriptions work

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance, per workspace, and their allowances follow the subscription period rather than the calendar month. Only workspace owners can manage billing.

An eligible seven-day trial requires a payment method and consent to automatic billing unless cancelled. It includes the chosen plan's features with 10,000 operations for the whole trial, not per month. Using them all stops forwarding; it does not start a charge early.

Upgrades take effect once the prorated difference is paid. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the period. A workspace's first subscription payment can be refunded in full within seven days after Toolstile confirms it, once per workspace.

The usage and billing guide covers trials, failed payments, plan changes and refunds in detail. The Terms are the governing text. Questions about a plan? Email support@toolstile.com.
