How we evaluated

The comparison below covers what a team leaving Mintive (formerly MintMCP) has to decide: hosting, per-agent access, accounts and sign-in, logging, cost and the work left with you. Facts come from Mintive (formerly MintMCP)'s public documentation and pricing on the dates under sources. We ran no benchmarks and gave no scores.

Toolstile vs Mintive (formerly MintMCP)

Mintive combines an approved MCP catalog and virtual MCP bundles with agent identities, model routing and monitoring. The former MintMCP name still appears in its application and support addresses.

Choose Mintive (formerly MintMCP) or Toolstile?

Stay with Mintive (formerly MintMCP) if

  • You need role-based virtual MCP bundles that map to corporate groups. 46
  • Model routing, budgets and agent monitoring belong in the same purchase as tool access. 7
  • You want hosted connectors or an enterprise self-hosting discussion. 7

Choose Toolstile if

  • You want a published monthly price per workspace instead of a per-user quote. 12
  • Each AI app should get its own grant, so a coding agent and a research agent see different tools. 3
  • Teammates contribute their own upstream accounts and admins approve them for shared use. 8

Where Toolstile fits

Managed remote MCP accessOur product

Share remote tools with a workspace budget

Toolstile suits a MintMCP buyer whose immediate problem is deciding what each authorized client can use. Keep personal connections separate, approve team accounts, and give a research client narrower access than a coding client.

Best for
Teams sharing remote MCP tools across their existing AI apps.
Good fit
Your upstream servers are already available over public HTTPS, and you can manage workspace membership directly.
Trade-off
Toolstile does not replace Mintive’s SCIM group sync, model routing, agent hosting or private-network connectivity.

Switching from Mintive (formerly MintMCP) to Toolstile

  1. Inventory the Mintive bundles people actually use and separate tool access from model routing, monitoring and hosted-agent dependencies.
  2. Find each original public HTTPS MCP endpoint. Keep hosted-only and private-network connectors on their existing path until you have a supported alternative.
  3. Reconnect upstream accounts in a Toolstile workspace, approve team contributions and create separate client authorizations for distinct permission sets.
  4. Rebuild named grants and blocks, then verify allowed calls, blocked calls and account selection with a small pilot before revoking the old client access.

Frequently asked questions

Is MintMCP the same product as Mintive?

The official site identifies Mintive as formerly MintMCP, and mintmcp.com redirects there. Compare the current Mintive offering rather than relying on older MintMCP plan descriptions.

Source9
Is Toolstile automatically cheaper than Mintive?

No universal cost claim is possible. Toolstile publishes workspace allowances; Mintive supplies a quote with user and platform charges. Compare your user count, gateway traffic and required enterprise features.

Sources12
How does Toolstile control access to a shared account?

A teammate contributes an upstream account and an admin approves it. Each client authorization still needs its own capability grant. You can share the account without copying its stored credentials into every AI app, and members can choose a preferred approved account.

Sources83
What if corporate directory provisioning is mandatory?

Toolstile Scale includes SAML or OIDC sign-in and SCIM 2.0 user provisioning, but SCIM groups and role mapping are not supported. If group-based provisioning is mandatory, keep Mintive or another product with documented group sync on the shortlist.

Sources63
Can two subagents have different Toolstile permissions?

Yes, when each uses a separate Toolstile client authorization. Subagents sharing their harness’s credential use that authorization’s access; a different prompt or role name does not create a separate identity.

Our recommendation

Choose Toolstile for a defined remote-access workflow with published workspace pricing. Keep Mintive in consideration when corporate identity, hosted connectors and model governance are central requirements; compare those requirements against Runlayer and Obot before switching.

Decide which tools each AI app may use

Free; paid from $29/workspace/month. USD, monthly per workspace, no per-seat fee: Free 5,000 operations; Starter $29 for 50,000; Team $99 for 250,000; Scale $299 for 1,000,000. No paid overages: forwarding stops at the allowance. Tool calls, resource reads and prompt requests count, including upstream failures; listing tools does not. Provider and AI-client charges are separate.
